INFORMATION ON CAMP NORTHWEST
Camp Northwest was started in 1979 under the direction of Pastor Greg
Kaminski. Pastor Kaminski was saved and called into the ministry while at a
camp in Michigan Although a full time pastor at Westside Baptist Church, he
has a burden for young people to have a camp where they can hear the gospel
and grow in The Lord.
Many of the Independent Fundamental Baptist Churches in the Northwest have
no place where they feel comfortable sending their young people. This camp
was started for them. The standards are high so as not to embarrass or
offend good churches. Although not on the same scale as “The Wild's
Christian Camp” in the state of North Carolina, Camp Northwest has adopted
basically the same type of program.
Camp Northwest uses the Mayfield Lake Youth Camp in Mossyrock, WA for the
two weeks of camp. It is located approximately two hours south of Seattle
and one and a half hours north of Portland off of Interstate 5.
